Lidé bádají hluboko ve vesmíru, a přitom netuší, kdo s nimi sdílí planetu Zemi. Ještěři, potomci Věčného ohně, vědí, jak splynout s davem. Jejich společnost však skomírá na prahu nového tisíciletí. Mezi jednotlivými rasami doutnají staré sváry – jedni se přizpůsobili lidem za cenu vlastní individuality, druzí se skryli hluboko pod zemí, neteční k problémům povrchu. Sevřeni z jedné strany lidmi a z druhé agresivními bestiemi, mají ještěři opravdu namále. Stačila by jediná jiskra a celý jejich známý svět se zhroutí… pak se nelze divit, že někteří vezmou věci do vlastních rukou.
Napínavý příběh vypráví lidská dívka Jana, proti vlastní vůli proměněná v ještěra. Vyděšená novými schopnostmi narazí v lese na chrám Temného draka. Neví, jaké nebezpečí jí hrozí. Jedno je ale jisté: její rozhodnutí ovlivní celou ještěří civilizaci, ačkoliv by to nikdo nečekal.

Rok je opäť za nami a ja som opäť nafotila svoju knižnicu. Vlastne svojich niekoľko knižníc, nakoľko mám knihy na rôznych miestach. Ale keď už nič iné, tak aspoň stále v jednej miestnosti a bez toho, aby som musela robiť expanziu do bratových poličiek. Čo určite ocení, nakoľko ani on už nemá príliš veľa miesta voľného. To sa stáva, keď máte všade knihy...
